I’m pleased to announce that I am now represented Rena Rosner of the Deborah Harris Agency. Rena has been representing my work for adults since 2019 (This picture is from the 2019 Highlights Symposium on Jewish Children’s Literature, where we met ).  Rena is a great editor, an enthusiastic champion, and a keen observer of the book market, and I’m so excited to see where she takes my books for kids.

I also want thank Linda Epstein for her many years of representation and friendship. When I had given up children’s books to write for adults, Linda convinced me to rejuvenate my kid-lit career. When I had given up on my adult work, Linda introduced me to Rena. And when Linda announced she was retiring from agenting, it took me by surprise.

As my husband can attest, I don’t do well with unexpected change. And as many of my writer friends can surely attest, finding yourself without representation can be unmooring. But I rallied! And once I had regained my bearings, I realized that (as Dorothy Gale attests) sometimes the thing you’re looking for is right there, in your own backyard.

And guess what else? Change can be energizing. So now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a bunch of new picture books waiting to be written.
